With the media landscape changing on a daily basis, magazines have either been closing or taking a hard look at their business model.

This week’s shout out goes to GQ for staying ahead of the game with their new iPhone App.  They have jumped on the digital bandwagon and found a way to reach their consumers on-the-go and integrate their product in their target’s every day life. So far, the results have been successful for current GQ subscribers and non-subscribers.

“Since GQ’s December “Men of the Year” issue debuted as a $2.99 iPhone app in mid-November, it has sold 6,641 times. The January issue’s app, however, has sold for $2.99 more than 12,000 times,” Conde Nast said.

This makes me wonder what other magazines will following in their footsteps. Stay tuned as we are on the look out for new trends in media.
