There may still be snow on the ground, but the bats are swingin’ as MLB players start spring training. Single game tickets for the Chicago Cubs games went on sale last Friday and once again fans clamored to ticket windows and online sales sites to stake their claim on what could be a record-breaking year – Year 101. (In case you haven’t been keeping track, this year marks the 101st anniversary since a World Series banner flew on the North Side.)
The 2008 Cubs’ season was one of the most impressive in recent memory. It seemed like a season of destiny with the 100th anniversary of their last World Series within reach … that is until post season came. It was frustrating and disappointing, but we faithful Cubs fans aspire to win. This year’s roster already looks different with Kerry Woods, Mark DeRosa and Jim Edmonds gone.
I don’t know if you think 101 times is a charm, but I’m going to the ballpark … Go CUBS Go!
